Dr. Micah DeAngelis,
1992-93One of four children, Thaao Penghlis was born and raised in Sydney, Australia to Greek immigrant parents. He originally had no intention of entering show business and in fact planned to be an archaeologist, but instead embarked on a career in diplomacy, which carried him to the United Nations in New York. It was during his time there that he met acting coach and director Milton Katselas, who encouraged him to pursue a career in drama. Thaao subsequently made his stage debut in the play Jockeys. Thaao is best known for his portrayal of Tony DiMera on Days of Our Lives, a role for which he received an Emmy nomination. He also played Victor Cassadine on General Hospital. Among his other television credits are the updated Mission Impossible, the miniseries Emma: Queen of the South Seas and the TV movies Sadat, Under Siege and Memories of Midnight. His TV guest-starring credits include Kojak, Cannon, Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, Hart to Hart, Nero Wolfe and Magnum, P.I. His film credits include Les Patterson Saves the World and Altered States. He also appeared on the stage in The Lion in Winter, The Balcony and No Exit. Thaao's birthdate is December 15, 1945. |
