CHIP MAYER
T.J. Daniels, 1987-89

The oldest of seven children, Chip Mayer was born on April 21, 1955 in New York and raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey. After graduating from Colgate University with a degree in business, he worked a desk job in Manhattan while studying acting in his spare time and going to auditions between work hours. Eventually, he decided to devote himself to acting full-time.

Chip's television credits include the parts of Vance Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard and Pete on Glitter. He originally tested for the role of Dr. Scott Clark on Santa Barbara, but the producers didn't see him as a doctor and he was later hired to play T.J. In 1997, Chip had a small role in the film Liar Liar alongside Jim Carrey.

Chip passed away on July 24, 2011 at age 57. He was survived by his fiancée Catherine and three daughters. Chip was once married to actress Eileen Davidson.
