CONSTANCE MARIE
Nikki Alvarez, 1989-90

Constance Marie got her start in show business as a dancer with David Bowie during his Glass Spider Tour in 1987. After this tour, she appeared in the dance film Salsa and the TV series Dirty Dancing. In December 1989, she made her soap debut as Nikki on Santa Barbara.

Eventually, Constance was let go from SB due to a sudden shift in storyline. A slew of guest-starring roles came her way, but it wasn't until she got a role in the 1995 film My Family that she began to attract attention as a serious actress.

After My Family, Constance starred in the film Selena, playing the mother of the murdered Latino singer. Her other movie credits include Dancing in September and Tortilla Soup.

Among Constance's best-remembered TV credits are Union Square, Early Edition and American Family. She's also known for her role as Angie on the sitcom George Lopez and Regina Vasquez on Switched at Birth.

She and Kent Katich have one child together, Luna (born 2009).
