Mary Duvall,
1985-86; 1989The youngest of eight children, Harley Kozak was born on January 28, 1957 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Her father died a year later, prompting Harley's mother to move the family to the midwest, eventually settling in Lincoln, Nebraska. At age 19, Harley moved to New York and enrolled in the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. Harley made her soap opera debut as Brette Wheeler on Texas. After that show was cancelled, she went on to play Annabelle Sims Reardon on Guiding Light and the popular Mary Duvall on Santa Barbara. Her portrayal of Mary garnered her a Soap Opera Digest Award. She also earned a spot in the history books for Mary's unusual death: crushed by the giant neon letter "C." Harley starred in various TV shows over the years, including Knightwatch, Harts of the West, Bringing Up Jack and You Wish. Her movie credits include The House on Sorority Row, When Harry Met Sally, Parenthood, Arachnophobia, The Favor and All I Want for Christmas. More recently, Harley turned her attention to writing novels. Her first one, Dating Dead Men, won an Agatha Award for best first novel in 2004. Harley has been divorced twice, most recently from entertainment lawyer Gregory Aldisert. She has three children with him: daughter Audrey Valentine (b. 2000) and twins Lorenzo Robert and Giana Julia (b. 2002). |
