Dr. Scott Clark,
1987-89Vincent Irizarry was born on November 12, 1959 in Queens, New York and raised in Long Island, New York. While studying piano at Berklee College of Music in Boston, he developed a fondness for acting and starred in several regional productions. He then moved back to New York to begin his career as a professional actor, receiving a scholarship to the Lee Strasberg Institute. Vincent's first professional acting performance was in The Death of Von Richthoven at the New York Shakespeare Festival. His other theater credits include Lennon (in which he played Paul McCartney), the title role in Modigliani, The Taming of the Shrew and The Long Goodbye. Vincent was cast in his first daytime role as Lujack on Guiding Light while he was waiting tables and sleeping in the back of New York's 13th Street Theater. His portrayal of Lujack garnered him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 1986 and made Vincent a popular star. He appeared on Santa Barbara for two years before returning to Guiding Light as Nick McHenry, Lujack's unknown twin. He subsequently played Dr. David Hayward on All My Children and David Chow on The Young and the Restless. He was nominated for another Daytime Emmy in 2002, and won in 2009. In feature movies, Vincent starred with Sissy Spacek in 1985's Marie and with Clint Eastwood in 1986's Heartbreak Ridge. Prime time audiences have also seen Vincent star in the TV movies Firefighter, Echoes in the Darkness and Lying Eyes, and in the miniseries Lucky Chances. He has also guest starred on L.A. Law, Murder She Wrote, Hotel, Beverly Hills 90210 and the pilot Circus. He returned to his musical roots when he performed a solo with the Orchestre de Lyon. Vincent married Signy Coleman in 1989 when the two were on Santa Barbara together. Their daughter, Siena, was born in 1990. Vincent divorced Signy in 1992 and married Avalon House in 1997. The couple has two children, daughter Aria (b. 1997) and son Elias (b. 2001). |
