1985-93Born and reared in Skokie, Illinois, Nancy Lee Grahn grew up being around the theater. Her parents choreographed local productions. She began acting at age 12 and made her professional debut while in high school with the Goodman Theatre in the musical Guys and Dolls. She remained active during her high school days by fulfilling her obligations as an honors student, class president and homecoming queen. After graduating from high school in 1976, Nancy moved to New York where she landed a one-year role on the soap opera One Life to Live, playing Beverly Wilkes. She then moved to Los Angeles where she had guest spots on prime time programs as Little House on the Prairie, Magnum P.I., Quincy, Simon & Simon, Knight Rider and Murder She Wrote. In 1989, her portrayal of Julia Wainwright Capwell on Santa Barbara earned her an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress. After SB was axed, she appeared on Models Inc., Murder One, Melrose Place and 7th Heaven. She's also known as Alexis Davis on the daytime drama General Hospital. In 2012, the role of Alexis earned her a second Emmy. Nancy's birthdate is April 28, 1958. She's single and has a daughter, Katherine Grace (b. 1998). |
