HENRY DARROW
Rafael Castillo, 1989-90; 1991-92

Henry Darrow was born on September 15, 1933 in New York City. At the age of 13, his family moved back to their native Puerto Rico. Later, Henry enrolled in the University of Puerto Rico where he studied political science and acting. While in college, he won a drama scholarship which brought him to the Pasadena Playhouse in California.

In Los Angeles, Henry appeared in a play titled The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit. A television producer happened to see that production and offered him the role of Manolito Montoya in the 1960s television series The High Chaparral. This show ran for four seasons and made Henry a popular star.

In addition, Henry is remembered for being the first Latino actor to portray Zorro. He starred in the 1983 series Zorro and Son and has also provided the voice for the animated series of The New Adventures of Zorro. In the early 1990s, he played Zorro's father in yet another reincarnation of the series.

Henry has starred on several other TV shows, including Harry O, The New Dick Van Dyke Show, Me and Mom and One Life to Live. He has made numerous guest appearances on such programs as Dallas, Golden Girls, Quincy, Dynasty and Simon & Simon. His film credits list Badge 373, Walk Proud, Cancel My Reservation, Losin' It, The Hitcher, L.A. Bounty and The Last of the Finest. He has also appeared in numerous stage plays. In 1990, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for his portrayal of Rafael Castillo on Santa Barbara.

Henry has been married to Lauren Levinson since 1981. He has two children from his previous marriage.
