SIGNY COLEMAN
Celeste DiNapoli, 1988-89

Signy Coleman was born on July 4, 1960 in Ross, California and grew up in Mill Valley, California. She studied classical ballet before pursuing a career as a model in San Francisco and Paris. From there, she was cast in a few music videos for the group Huey Lewis and the News. She became an actress and learned her craft from the late drama coach Peggy Feury.

In 1988, Signy made her soap debut playing ex-hooker Celeste DiNapoli on Santa Barbara. Interestingly enough, Signy's life closely followed that of her character. While working with Vincent Irizarry, who played her romantic counterpart on the show, the two fell in love and married in real life. They're no longer together, but they have a daughter Siena who was born in 1990. Signy also has a daughter by her second ex-husband, Thomas Nolan.

Signy is familiar to daytime viewers for her memorable role as blind Hope Adams Newman on The Young and the Restless. She also played the evil Annie Dutton on Guiding Light. Her prime time roles include appearances on Mike Hammer, Charles in Charge, Jake and the Fatman, Human Target, Diagnosis Murder, Chicago Hope, The X Files and Law and Order. She has appeared in such films as Relentless 3, Indecent Proposal and 20 Dates.

The name Signy comes from a book on Scandinavian mythology her mother was reading when she was pregnant with her.
