| Ruben (sometimes spelled as Rueben) and Rosa
Andrade got married when they were young. They had two children,
Santana and Danny. Two other daughters named Olivia and Gabriella
were mentioned in an early episode, but they never appeared
onscreen. The Andrades were Mexican-American and very religious.
Ruben and Rosa were both employed at the Capwell mansion. Ruben
was the gardener, while Rosa was the housekeeper. In addition,
Rosa helped raise the Capwell children while their mother, Sophia,
was presumed dead for many years.
Even after Ruben and Rosa were gone from the show, they were
still referred to as being around. When Rosa appeared onscreen
again after a few years away, it was revealed that she and Ruben
were no longer together. No explanation was given. Eventually,
Rosa started dating Rafael Castillo. |
| Before Channing Capwell Jr. was killed, Santana
fell deeply in love with the boy and got pregnant with his child
at age eighteen. When Channing's father, C.C. Capwell, got wind of
this, he forced Santana to give up the baby for adoption. Everyone
believed that Santana was in Acapulco for a summer job, but in
reality she gave birth to her son there on August 21, 1979.
After the boy was born, C.C. arranged for him to be adopted by
Stockman and Gina Demott. The child was named Brandon. Stockman
died in 1984, prompting Gina and Brandon to move to Santa Barbara.
By then, Santana had decided to search for her son and soon found
him. Nevertheless, Brandon didn't learn until 1989 that Santana
was his biological mother.
In 1992, Santana became pregnant with C.C. Capwell's child. She
had a miscarriage before they could wed. |

The Andrade/Castillo Connection

When the Andrades first came from Mexico, they were
taken in by the Castillo family. Later, while Santana was
growing up, Cruz used to live across the street and was
like a brother to her. They also attended the same high
school. In 1986, Cruz and Santana were briefly married
when it helped her get custody of Brandon.
